Dự Án Tuyến Tàu Điện LRT 9000 Tỷ Đồng Tại Phú Quốc
In preparation for the APEC 2027 Summit and to realize the aspiration of turning Phu Quoc into a global destination, Vietnam's first urban light rail transit (LRT) line, invested by Sun Group, has officially commenced construction. With a total investment of up to 9,000 billion VND, the project not only solves the urban traffic problem but also opens up a new cycle of breakthrough growth for tourism and real estate in the Pearl Island.

Location and strategic route

The Phu Quoc LRT line possesses a "golden" route, running parallel to provincial road DT.975 (a road currently being upgraded and expanded to 10 lanes).
The route starts from Phu Quoc International Airport, goes along the DT.973 - DT.975 axis, passes through APEC Avenue, and ends at the APEC Convention and Exhibition Center (South Island area).
This is a direct, seamless connecting corridor, helping to shorten the travel time from the airport to resort complexes, entertainment venues, and event centers to only about 20 minutes. This route axis is considered the backbone transportation network, shaping the modern urban development space for the entire island.
Breakthrough design: Harmony between technology and nature

The LRT system is designed with a diverse topography to optimize connectivity while preserving the endemic natural landscape of Phu Quoc. Specifically, over a total length of nearly 18km, the route includes:
- 14.81 km on the ground: Running along the avenue, creating a modern landscape highlight.
- 0.78 km elevated: Helping the train easily bypass crowded traffic intersections, ensuring continuous operating speed.
- 2 km underground: The underground section right at the APEC center area helps passengers connect directly to the event area without disrupting the landscape or affecting the high-level summit activities on the ground.
International standard station system

The entire route is arranged with 6 stations (including 5 ground stations, 1 underground station) along with 1 maintenance depot:
- Airport Station (Starting station): Located right at the airport's parking area, with a width of up to 8m. This prime location allows passengers to immediately access the smart public transportation system to head to their hotels right after stepping off the plane.
- Intermediate stations and Terminal station: Possessing a spacious area of 6m - 8m wide, fully equipped with underground pedestrian tunnels connecting both sides of the road. All stations strictly comply with international safety access standards, fully equipped with escalators, stairs, and elevators for people with disabilities.
A massive boost for tourism & Real Estate

- Solving the traffic problem: The light rail line becomes a green, clean public transportation model, significantly distributing the load for the road system, completely resolving local congestion during peak tourist seasons.
- Elevating the tourism experience: Fast, smooth, and punctual travel will satisfy the strict demands of V.I.P international guests. Phu Quoc thereby gradually approaches the infrastructure standards of global destinations like Singapore or Dubai.
- Leverage to increase Real Estate value: History has proven that wherever a rail network passes through, the real estate value in that area always tends to grow outstandingly. The LRT line combined with the 10-lane avenue will create strong momentum for resort and urban commercial real estate projects located along the DT.975 axis and the South Island area.
Guarantee from Sun Group

As the leading infrastructure and tourism developer in Phu Quoc for the past 15 years, Sun Group continues to affirm its long-term vision by taking on the responsibility of creating this billion-dollar transportation line. The synchronous investment, from expanding the airport terminal (aiming for 50 million passengers/year) and building the APEC Convention Center to the 9,000 billion VND light rail line, demonstrates Sun Group's sustainable development philosophy: Building a closed, high-class, and most perfect utility ecosystem.
